Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our electric fireplaces.
Do electric fireplaces require venting or a chimney?
Electric fireplaces do not require a combustion chimney or gas line. Required ventilation openings, clearances, electrical connections, and suitable installation locations vary by model. Follow the installation manual and do not obstruct air inlets or outlets. Use a qualified electrician where required.
Can I run the flame effect without the heat?
Yes, absolutely! All Flameline fireplaces feature independent controls for the flames and the heater. You can enjoy the cozy, beautiful ambiance of the glowing flames year-round—even in the middle of summer—without turning on the heat.
Is it safe to mount a TV above my electric fireplace?
Whether a TV can be installed above a fireplace depends on the fireplace model, heat outlet location, required clearances, and the TV manufacturer's temperature and mounting requirements. Check both manufacturers' instructions before installation. Do not assume the wall above the fireplace stays cool; consult a qualified installer if you are unsure.
Are electric fireplaces safe for homes with children and pets?
Electric fireplaces produce heat, and surfaces or areas near the heat outlet can become hot during use. Keep children and pets away from hot areas, supervise children, and follow the model-specific manual's safety instructions and clearances. Do not assume the glass or other surfaces remain cool during operation.
